Loving Jesus
Jesus is the reason we gather each week
Loving Jesus is at the heart of everything we do. We want to know Him more; His life that showed us how to live, His death for our sins, and His resurrection that gives us new life and hope. Everything we do comes from that love. When we love Jesus first, it changes how we see people, how we serve, and how we live out our faith together.
Loving the Bible
The Word of God shapes who we are
Loving Scripture means treasuring God’s Word together. Every week, we open the Bible: reading it, preaching from it, and letting its truth come alive in our hearts. Scripture reminds us who God is, what He’s done, and how deeply He loves us. As we listen, learn, and live it out, we find hope, wisdom, and joy for every part of life. We love growing together around God’s Word and seeing how it shapes our church family.
Loving the work of the spirit
The Holy Spirit brings life, power, and unity to our church
Loving the work of the Spirit means welcoming God’s presence and power in our lives every day. We believe the Holy Spirit is always moving, guiding us, comforting us, and shaping us to become more like Jesus. As a church family, we love to pray for one another and use the spiritual gifts God has given us to build each other up.
A Creative Community
We reflect the creativity of our Creator
God is endlessly creative, and we want to reflect that in all we do. We celebrate the gifts He’s placed in each of us, using art, drama, music, words, and ideas to glorify Him and share His story in fresh and inspiring ways. Creativity helps us see God’s beauty and share His love with others.

We find joy in Jesus and each other
Joy is at the heart of who we are. Whether in worship, serving others, or sharing life together, we find our joy in Jesus and the good news of His love. Even in challenging times, we choose to celebrate God’s faithfulness and the hope He gives us each day.

The good news of the gospel is for everyone, so we want our church to be a place where people from all backgrounds and abilities can belong, participate, and grow in faith together. Jesus welcomed those who society ostracised, and we’re committed to making sure no one is left out of His family.

We are committed to serving God and Heworth as we learn, explore, grow in and share the hope and love we have found in Jesus.
Serving God
We seek to serve God by worshipping faithfully, listening attentively to Scripture, and shaping our lives around the good news of Jesus Christ. Grounded in prayer and sustained by God’s grace, we aim to grow as disciples who love God with heart, mind, soul, and strength, and who seek to reflect Christ in all that we do.
Serving Heworth
We believe God has placed us in Heworth for the good of our parish and its people. We are committed to serving our local community with generosity and care, seeking the flourishing of all, and bearing witness to God’s love through practical action, hospitality, and faithful presence in everyday life.
